Red Lake Outreach is an organization that seeks to serve the Red Lake Tribal community through various programs. For the past few years, the organization has been honored to sponsor an annual horse camp that serves many native youths. Part of filming a documentary in rural areas is dealing with the local nature. In some parts of the world, it is snakes, scorpions, spiders, ants, or anything else that can make you live life on the edge. In Minnesota, we had the chance to get to know some black bears. As you can see, mom was not happy with how close I got to the cub and started to push me back. Once I was at a safe distance, she was turned around. While this was my first real encounter with a black bear, I have been studying interactions like this for years and have had many close encounters with other wild animals.
